Ikea Opens Asian-Inspired Café

Home furnishings retailer Ikea has opened an Asian-themed showroom café in its Tokyo store to promote its Lotus Collection of products inspired by Southeast Asia.

Folks in Tokyo, Japan can experience for themselves what it is like to lounge around in a place that’s completely furnished with pieces from the Swedish furniture company by visiting the recently-opened IKEA Lotus Collection Cafe.

The cafe is open for a limited time and serves as a showroom for the company’s latest collection, which was inspired by Southeast Asia. Naturally, the Lotus Collection Cafe has a very “Asian resort” feel to it and lets visitors see and feel pieces from the collection for themselves.

The cafe is completely outfitted in the new collection and even includes items that are unusual for a cafe, like a full-size bed. Aside from dining tables, the Lotus Collection Cafe also includes home furnishings for specific areas like a lounge area with a couch with fluffy throw pillows and a coffee table. Every piece of home furnishing, every tableware, accessories, or furniture that is available in the cafe is also available for purchase.
