Bernie & Phyl’s Supports Bombings Survivors' Home Renovation

Bernie & Phyl’s Furniture has furnished A&E Network real-estate reality show Flipping Boston's home renovation for Boston Marathon bombings survivors Paul Norden and Jacqui Webb.

The two will move into their newly renovated, handicapped-accessible home home in Stoneham, Mass., this Saturday. Norton-based Bernie & Phyl’s supplied almost $10,000 of new living room, dining room, and bedroom furniture.

Paul and his fiancée, Jacqui, were with a group of friends cheering on runners near the Boston Marathon finish line when the second of the two bombs exploded on April 15, 2013. Paul and his brother J.P. each lost a leg in the blast, and Jacqui suffered severe injuries to her right leg, burns on her hands, and numerous shrapnel wounds.

Flipping Boston secured donated materials for the home renovation, the contractors donated their labor, and A&E donated funds for the project.  The transformation of the house can be seen on the “Flipping Boston Strong” episode, which airs on A&E at noon Saturday.

“We are honored to be a part of the ongoing community effort to help the survivors of the Boston Marathon bombings rebuild their lives,” said Rob Rubin of Bernie & Phyl’s Furniture. “Bernie & Phyl’s has strong roots in Massachusetts, and we are happy that we can do our part to make a difference.”
