Duties to Continue on Innerspring Units

The U.S. Department of Commerce and International Trade Commission have ruled to continue the antidumping duty order on uncovered innerspring units from China, South Africa and Vietnam.

The five-year sunset review of the innerspring unit antidumping order began in November. DOC and ITC determined that lifting duties on the items would likely lead to continuation or recurrence of dumping and material injury to an industry in the United States.

Domestic manufacturer Leggett & Platt filed a petition against uncovered innerspring units from China, South Africa and Vietnam in late 2007. Duties have been collected on units from Vietnam and South Africa since December 2008; an on units from China since February 2009.

The original investigation resulted from a petition filed by domestic producer Leggett & Platt on Dec. 31, 2007, alleging material injury from unfairly priced imports of .
