Furniture.com Honors Earth Day
April 22,
2014 by in Green, Industry
This Earth Day, Furniture.com is giving shoppers a chance to give back to the environment, helping to rebuild America’s forests.
With every order placed on Furniture.com between April 21 and April 24, the furniture e-commerce site will plant a tree on customers’ behalf through non-profit organization, American Forests.
“We believe in giving back to the community and the environment whenever we can. In an industry where wood is a natural resource integral to the products we sell, we want to make sure we work towards reducing our carbon footprint and renewing our forests,” said Bindi Tuli, director of client strategy at Boston, Mass.-based Furniture.com.
Having planted more than 45 million trees since 1990, American Forests is the oldest national nonprofit conservation organization in the country. Working to protect and restore forests, the organization plants trees, restores watersheds and ecosystems, educates and advocates. American Forests plants trees with local partners in every state and in 38 countries across the world.
