Seldens Will Open Tommy Bahama Lifestyle Shop

Tacoma, Wash., furniture retailer Seldens Designer Home Furnishings will hold a grand opening Thursday for the first dedicated Tommy Bahama Home Shop in the Pacific Northwest.

The event, 6-9 p.m., will include live entertainment by Tacoma pianist Juan Perez along with appetizers and drinks from Cafe Pacific, featuring exclusive recipes from the Tommy Bahama Restaurant & Bar. Guests may register to win Tommy Bahama gift cards as well as a grand prize package that includes a weekend getaway to the five-diamond Pelican Hill Resort in Newport Beach Calif., including airfare for two, lodging and entertainment.

"Customers today are looking to furnish their homes in a manner that reflects both their personality and their lifestyle," said Scott Selden, president and CEO of Seldens. "The Tommy Bahama brand is iconic for casual elegance. It's the hallmark of their apparel lines as well as their home collections. Our customers know and connect with the brand, which is why we embraced the opportunity to expand our longstanding and successful relationship with Tommy Bahama Home to include their new shop concept.

"The enhanced presentation not only features stunning rooms of both indoor and outdoor home furnishings and accessories, but also allows our talented design team to showcase a remarkable range of styling and looks. Customers appreciate the opportunity to see how great interior design can transform their homes. Our ability as a retailer to create those visual presentations is a huge benefit in validating design choices for our clients."

The new Tommy Bahama Shop is located in a dedicated area of the expansive 150,000-square-foot Seldens showroom, which has been totally redesigned to accommodate the new brand presentation. Designers from Lexington Home Brands, worked closely with the Seldens design team in creating the space. Lexington has produced all of the Tommy Bahama Home collections since the inception of the brand category more than a decade ago.

"We've done business with Scott Selden, his family, and their team for many years," said Phil Haney, president and CEO of Lexington Home Brands. "In today's retail environment, there is nothing more energizing than great design and a lifestyle presentation that inspires customers to envision that look in their own home."

The Tommy Bahama furniture portfolio currently includes more than 20 collections of indoor furnishings, outdoor living designs and accessories, spanning a broad range of styling and price-points.

Tommy Bahama is global brand, based in Seattle, known for relaxed interpretation of the casual elegant style. The company operates 130 retail locations both nationally and internationally with 14 locations featuring a Tommy Bahama Restaurant & Bar adjacent to the store. In addition to its own stores, the brand is featured at high-end retailers such as Nordstrom and at fine boutiques and resort destinations worldwide.
