Barclay Butera Looks to Highland House with Collection

Barclay chairHighland House will launch a new licensed collection of upholstery, case goods and occasional accents with California-based furniture and interior designer Barclay Butera at the April 5-10 High Point Furniture Market.

The initial product launch, which includes 83 pieces for living, dining, bedroom and family room, showcases the designer’s high-energy sense of color, his casual-chic California style and fresh approach to the traditional furniture genre. In addition to featuring the full collection at its showroom, space 142 in Historic Market Square, Highland House will show a limited presentation of the new Butera collection at Interhall-IH404.

On a related note, on Saturday, April 5, 2-3 p.m. at the IHFC, 11th floor Ballroom B, Tori Mellott, Traditional Home magazine’s senior style & markets editor, and Butera will headline a seminar titled “The Fresh Face of Traditional,” sponsored by International Market Centers. At this seminar, Butera and Mellott will present a lively dialog on the evolution and relevance of traditional design today, Butera’s refreshing approach to this classic design idiom, plus how Butera’s new Highland House furniture collection reflects his unique way of “putting a fresh face” on vernacular traditional style. Drinks and refreshments will be provided at the seminar; seating will be limited and advance registration is requested. For more information about this seminar, contact Phairr@imcenters.com; or call 336.888.3770.

Headquartered in Hickory, N.C., Highland House is a division of Century Furniture.
