Harkness Holds Reimbursement Party

Tacoma, Wash., retailer Harkness Furniture held a party Monday honoring the Super Bowl-winning Seattle Seahawks and winners of a free furniture Super Bowl promotion.
Harkness Furniture had promised customers an extra incentive for buying furniture prior to the 2014 Super Bowl: “If the Seahawks returned their opening kickoff for a touchdown, any purchase made between Thursday, Jan. 30 and game time would be reimbursed in full.”
Thanks to the Percy Harvin 87 yard kickoff return to begin the second half, Harkness Furniture gave out $70,000 in reimbursement checks at the party, which included refreshments, door prizes and commemorative gifts.
As the official NFL 2014 Super Bowl video replayed highlights of the game, winners received their checks along with an 8 X 10 full color photograph of the Percy Harvin touchdown run. The event was open to the public. Everyone in attendance was invited to sign a giant “thank you” card to be sent to Percy Harvin.
Harkness Furniture, a family owned furniture and mattress retailer, has been in business since 1920.
