Tobi Fairley to Keynote Destination Design at Lexington

Tobi FairleyCelebrated interior designer Tobi Fairley will be keynote speaker at Lexington Home Brands' "Destination Design" event at April High Point Furniture Market.

Targeted exclusively to design professionals, the breakfast event will take place at the Lexington showroom at 1300 National Highway on Saturday, April 5 at 8:30 am. Fairley will be joined by special guest Krissa Rossbund, senior style editor for Traditional Home.

Fairley, whose work regularly appears in print and online, will speak on the subject of “Insider Tips for Getting Published.” She will address how-to issues such as photo styling pointers, how to effectively package projects for submission and key elements that will catch an editor’s eye. Her work is featured on the cover and in a major article in the April 2014 issue of Traditional Home. Rossbund will offer her perspective as an editor, on how top shelter magazines select projects for publication. Guests will be encouraged to join the dialogue during an open question and answer session following the presentation.

“At our design professional’s event in October, we heard a very consistent message from attendees that they wanted our help in facilitating a high-energy forum geared towards growing and marketing their business,” said Phil Haney, president and CEO of Lexington Home Brands. “We believe that Tobi Fairley has done a remarkable job in building her firm, establishing her brand and mentoring others on how to do the same. Her experience in the ‘business of design’ made her the perfect keynote speaker for the event. The fact that her work is being featured in the April issue of Traditional Home presented the opportunity for us to ask the style editor from one of the top publications in the industry to share her thoughts from a media perspective. We think the topic is both relevant and essential for any design professional looking to grow their business.”

The event will begin at 8:30 a.m. with a gourmet hot breakfast, featuring eggs benedict, made-to-order omelets, Belgian waffles, homemade yogurts, fresh pastries and a signature morning cocktail. The presentation will begin at 9 a.m. and will last one hour, including the question and answer session, followed by an opportunity for attendees to browse the Lexington Home Brands showroom in an open-house format or with a dedicated design guide. The company’s exclusive Designer Concierge desk will offer specially trained staff to assist with product, sales and logistics questions. Seating for the event will be limited to 130 guests, and RSVP’s are required.

Participants at the event will be entered to win a prize drawing for a trip to Dallas, Texas, for one of Tobi Fairley’s Design Camps   Design Camps are customized programs for professionals who want to transform and invigorate their businesses, balance their careers and enjoy a renewed sense of personal accomplishment. Lexington Home Brands will provide the winner a travel and amenities package that includes luxury accommodations, airfare, ground transportation, spa treatments and more.

“I’m so excited to be speaking on this subject in the same month that my work is featured on the cover of Traditional Home,” said Fairley. "I love sharing ideas and giving back to the design community by participating in events where the goal is to elevate our professionalism while drawing attention to great work being done in our industry. I also appreciate Lexington’s strong support for designers, demonstrated by and their willingness to host this exclusive event.”
