Ethan Allen Plans New Design Center in Texas

A 17,000-square-foot Ethan Allen Design Center  is in the works for Shenandoah, Texas, and is scheduled to open this fall.

Owned and operated by the Chesnick family, this Ethan Allen Design Center will replace the current

I-45 location and feature an updated design that showcases Ethan Allen’s new shopping concept and fashion-forward approach to home design.

“Ethan Allen is excited to break new ground in this thriving North Houston community and continue to unveil the creative new ways shoppers can design their homes with us,” said Ethan Allen CEO Farooq Kathwari.

Designed by Harry Gendel Architects of Houston, the Design Center is being built by Metzger Construction Co.

“This new location is extremely accessible and will be highly visible with a distinctive design that reflects Ethan Allen’s new direction,” said Joseph Chesnick Jr., president and CEO of Georgetown Manor Inc., an authorized Ethan Allen retailer.

The building’s exterior is designed to reflect the architecture and terrain of the surrounding Woodlands community with tumbled brick, large showcase windows, and natural landscaping. Three large-scale metal panels with abstract furniture design cutouts will hang above the entryway and be visible from the highway and from within the store.

The interior will feature state-of-the-art LED lighting and a boutique-style floor plan designed to highlight the company’s latest styles and services. This includes private presentation rooms for one-on-one design consultations and displays that showcase the company’s new take-with accents. It is anticipated that this location will have 10 on-staff professional designers.

The Chesnick family has been an authorized Ethan Allen retailer for 46 years, spanning three generations. They currently own and operate six Ethan Allen Design Centers in Houston, Austin, and San Antonio, Texas.

My husband and I are about to start building a home. We really like the brick that was used on the new Ethan Allen store in the Woodlands, TX. Do you know where the brick came from and the name of it? Thanks
