DirectBuy Launches Discount Travel Program

Membership retailer DirectBuy is branching out from home furnishings and improvement services into travel with the launch of DirectBuy Travel.
The program offers members savings on everything from cruises and resorts, to hotel and city stays, spa and golf packages and more.
The DirectBuy Travel program is part of DirectBuy’s evolving mission to focus on inspiring members with further additions to the company’s lifestyle-enhancing benefits.
“I feel strongly about focusing on members when designing services and enhancing benefits by constantly asking, ‘What do our members want?’ That’s the essence of the new DirectBuy,” said Mike Bornhorst, CEO of DirectBuy, Merrillville, In. “This philosophy is the primary reason why there are so many exciting changes underway that will reshape the way consumers interact with and benefit from DirectBuy membership.”
DirectBuy Travel provides consumers and members with savings credits they can apply toward payment on a wide selection of travel and lifestyle experiences. Once a consumer visits a DirectBuy Open House or becomes a new DirectBuy member, they receive savings credits to use through DirectBuy Travel.
For example, new DirectBuy Platinum members receive $1,500 in DirectBuy Travel savings credits per year for their initial three-year membership term and have the opportunity to receive additional savings credits every year they renew afterward. DirectBuy Travel also provides savings credits rewards for booking flights or car rentals that can then be redeemed for additional savings on other vacation and lifestyle experiences.
While DirectBuy has been around for more than 42 years, it is a time of significant change for the company. Throughout the organization, efforts are being refocused towards the consumer and the company’s values are also changing.
