CORT Commits $50K to Folds of Honor Foundation

Furniture rental and transition services provider CORT will continue its partnership with the Folds of Honor Foundation in 2014 by providing scholarships and serving as the exclusive furniture provider for the foundation.

Founded by Major Dan Rooney in 2007, Folds of Honor provides educational scholarships to dependents and spouses of fallen or severely injured soldiers across the United States.

“We are thrilled to have CORT as a partner again this year and for their commitment to our organization and to the military families that we serve,” said Rooney. “We had a record-breaking year, and it is because of the generosity of companies like CORT that we have been able to provide scholarships to even more deserving families.”

Last year, CORT provided both monetary and product support to Folds of Honor Foundation. Through various campaigns, the company donated more than $70,000 through educational scholarships and by furnishing the first Honor Cottage, a retreat house for military families located on the shore of Skiatook Lake in Sperry, Okla. CORT donated furniture, accessories and housewares to complete the cottage.

“For more than 40 years, CORT has been committed to supporting and honoring military personnel and their families,” said Jeff Pederson, president and CEO of CORT, Chantilly, Va. “CORT is extremely proud of its partnership with Folds of Honor Foundation and we look forward to continuing to bring awareness to all of the great things they do for military families and being a part of making the dream of having an education a reality for Folds of Honor scholarship recipients.”
