Smith Leonard Expands with Merger

Smith Leonard, the High Point accounting firm that compiles Furniture Insights each month, has merged with Lexington, N.C., accounting firm Smith McWhorter.
Effective Jan. 1, the merged firms will continue under the Smith Leonard name. The merger expands Smith Leonard into two key service areas--real estate and small-business services--and adds an additional office in Lexington. The new entity employs 45 people.
As part of the merger, CPAs Thomas Smith and Aimee McWhorter, who specialize in tax and accounting services for individuals and privately held, have been elected partners in Smith Leonard.
