Marge Carson Sends Aid for Typhoon Recovery

Although Marge Carson's local factory in Cebu came through the storm fine, many families in the area were hard-hit.
"The losses that have been suffered in the Philippines are devastating, and responding to a disaster of this magnitude was extremely important," said Jim LaBarge, owner and CEO of Marge Carson, Pomona, Calif.
Employees at the company’s Pomona headquarters quickly mobilized to raise funds with the understanding that each donation would be matched by Marge Carson. It was a relief effort that rapidly grew--and continues to do so.
Initial donations fed more than 1,000 families. But when Cebu employees delivered the relief goods in person, they saw a need for much more. “Give Back Cebu” was established to further channel donations toward the purchase and distribution of goods, going directly to the families in need. The first container to leave the Pomona facility is set to arrive in late December, in time for the Christmas holiday and the start of a new school year.
Likewise, monetary donations are being sent via wire to continue providing food for those in need.
"We are proud to be part of a whole community coalition led by Give Back Cebu and grateful to be able to make a meaningful difference in relief efforts," LaBarge said.
