Denver Mattress Helps Rescue Mission

Denver Mattress Co., a division of Furniture Row Cos., has helped raise more than $255,000 to assist the homeless in 29 states.

The retailer worked with Association of Gospel Rescue Missions  to raise the money. Denver Mattress pledged to match every dollar donated to the 69 participating rescue missions during the month of November. Donations of more than $105,000 were made and several organizations met the match goal.

Though the list of missions did not meet the pledge cap of $150,000, Denver Mattress honored the cap with its donation.

"Once again, our friends at Denver Mattress Company have shown they understand that the real bottom line in life is how we care for our neighbors in need," said John Ashmen, president of Association of Gospel Rescue Missions. "It is so fitting that an organization called Denver Mattress Company is ensuring that thousands of men, women, and children will have a warm, safe place to sleep. If every company in America would follow their example, we would start to see solutions to some of our greatest social concerns."

The mission, founded in 1913, is the oldest and largest network of crisis shelters and rehabilitation centers.
