By Home Furnishings Business in on April 5, 2011 National in-home delivery firm HEP Direct has acquired Executive Delivery Service of Thomasville, N.C.

Keith Hewitt, HEP Direct president and CEO, said the company€™s U.S.A. market share has grown in the home delivery business because of the acquisition.

"We saw an opportunity to grow our market share in the U.S. furniture home delivery and logistics sector," Hewitt said. €œOur research revealed there are not a lot of asset-based, nationally focused, in-home furniture delivery providers to choose from in the market. Tempur-Pedic Sponsors IMAX Theaters at Jordan's Furniture

By Home Furnishings Business in on April 5, 2011 Bedding supplier Tempur-Pedic International has teamed up with Boston-based Jordan's Furniture to sponsor the Tempur-Pedic IMAX 3D Theater at two Jordan's stores.

Tempur-Pedic will sponsor the theater in the Natick, Mass., and Reading, Mass., stores.

"Tempur-Pedic is excited about being a part of this incredible retail experience," said Rick Anderson, president of Tempur-Pedic North America. "Jordan's, in addition to changing the way people enjoy the movie going experience, is also changing the way people shop for furniture."

As part of the new sponsorship, Tempur-Pedic will continue providing theater seats to the theaters.  The theaters feature seats made from Tempur-Pedic's proprietary TEMPUR material. The Tempur-Pedic seats at the theater have served as a major draw for guests, leading Boston Globe movie critic Wesley Morris to observe, "For supreme comfort, fittingly enough, it's the IMAX Theater at Jordan's Furniture and almost nothing else."

In addition to enjoying the seats, guests of the Tempur-Pedic IMAX Theater at Jordan's are pulled into a one-of-a-kind experience for the senses. Each seat contains a Buttkicker subwoofer, allowing guests to feel the bass of a film's soundtrack.

Jordan's was one of the first retailers to offer its customers Tempur-Pedic mattresses and pillows in 1998, and today carries a broad assortment.

"It has been great to offer our guests the most exciting theater experience possible, including seats made with Tempur-Pedic's revolutionary material," said Eliot Tatelman, president and CEO of Jordan's Furniture. "Our customers tell us every day how amazed they are by the comfort and support that our Tempur-Pedic seats provide, and we know it's a big reason why guests keep coming back."
