Berkline/BenchCraft, a provider in the home furnishings industry, has entered into a stalking horse agreement to sell its intellectual property assets to Ashley Furniture Industries for $850,000. The agreement is subject to higher and better offers and Bankruptcy Court approval. Streambank expects that the deadline for additional offers will be set on or around August 5. Streambank also announced it has been retained as the exclusive agent to sell the intellectual property rights relating to the CBGB brand. CBGB was a famous music club located in New York City known as the Home of Underground Rock & Roll Music.

A furniture company is being investigated after it was revealed that products said to be imported from Italy were made in China.
According to a report by China Central Television, products sold by Shanghai-based DaVinci Furniture Ltd were sent to Italy and then back to China so they could qualify for import certificates. The owners of Limestone Furniture Mart filed a document Wednesday in Madison County Circuit Court announcing they have filed for bankruptcy. Scott Connell, who remains in Limestone County Jail after being arrested on various theft charges stemming from customer complaints they did not receive furniture they ordered, is listed on the "Suggestion of Bankruptcy" document along with his wife Brandi. Upscale furniture and home furnishings retailer Natuzzi Italia is opening its first flagship store in Florida this fall at The Galleria luxury shopping center in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
Natuzzi Italia is set to host the grand opening this September. The store will represent the 52-year-old company's largest gallery in the United States at 8,000 square feet. It will be located on the upper level of The Galleria, above restaurants P.F. Chang's and Seasons 52.
