Home Fashion Report, Swarovski Create 'Hidden Gems'

By Home Furnishings Business in High Point on April 5, 2013

The Home Fashion Report is partnering with Swarovski Elements and 220 Elm to bring High Point Market-goers "Hidden Gems," a fun social media game created to showcase unusual new products and some of the best-kept secrets in High Point.

According to Ellen Gefen, Home Fashion Report host and president of Gefen Productions, the contest enables buyers, designers and other Market attendees to share photos of items selected by the trend forecasters at Home Fashion Report via social media platforms for a chance to win a free iPad Mini.

220 Elm is donating the iPad Mini prize.

"We think Hidden Gems is a great concept," said Heinz Kattenfeld, COO. "We love to hear about the 'wow' moments when someone discovers yet another cool thing in or about High Point."

Swarovski Elements, known for its crystal, is supplying the "gems" for the Hidden Gems game logo: a Greek key design that will appear on identifying cards placed throughout High Point and in Market showrooms.

"We want to help manufacturers showcase their product introductions to a larger audience," Gefen said. "The idea is to spread the word and get attendees excited about hidden gems, display concepts, and new companies we identify at Market that we think are worthy of more attention. With so much to see at Market, it's easy to miss the one great product or idea that might change your business in the coming months, and the Hidden Gems game is a fun way to help everyone cover more ground-introducing buyers to showrooms they may have never shopped before, as well as eateries off the beaten path, and small shops devoted to the design trade or even the best shoe repair in town."

Across the Market, the cards labeled "I found a Hidden Gem!" with the Greek key design will be placed in showrooms. When a card is spotted, attendees should snap a photo of themselves with the product and share their picture via Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest or e-mail using hashtag #hiddengems to be automatically entered to win the iPad Mini. On Wednesday, April 24th, a winner will be randomly selected and contacted.

Contest rules are available online
