Jackson, Miss.-based Miskelly Furniture continues its season of giving campaign with a special delivery for a mother of four. Cherita Armon and her children lost everything in a fire a few months ago and had been living with relatives until recently.
The family watched as the delivery crew unloaded their new living room furniture which included a sofa, love seat and tables. Armon also received a queen size bed, a twin bed and a set of bunk beds... Armon works at McWillie Elementary and was nominated by some of her co-workers.

PLATTSBURGH A Wendell's Furniture store at Champlain Centre should be open by March. Beds, sofas and chairs will fill the 17,000-square-foot space where Borders sold books.
"Plattsburgh has been on our radar screen for three to four years," said owner Wendell Farrell. "When the Borders space became open, it became a good opportunity for us."
Farrell said the company has seen a lot of Plattsburgh people who travel to their Vermont locations to buy furniture.

GALESBURG A business that opened downtown Dec. 1 does jobs across the U.S., and also ships merchandise around the world. Hotel Furniture Liquidators, formerly 1515 E. Main St., is now in the former home of Radkes Fine Furniture, 420 E. Main St. Radkes, owned by Lyndon and Sherry Graham, closed in late November. The Grahams, who are leasing the building to Hotel Furniture Liquidators, wanted to spend time with their daughter and her family.

Galax, Va.-based Vaughan-Bassett Furniture Co. has purchased 150,000 tree seedlings from the Virginia Department of Forestry and is donating them for planting projects on private and public land across the Commonwealth in spring 2012.
Since the introduction of the companys 1-4-1 Program in the fall of 2007, Vaughan-Bassett has donated a total of 750,000 trees that clean the air, protect our waterways and enhance the quality of life throughout Virginia.

Palliser Furniture will show for the first time at the January
Las Vegas Market. The company will show in space 770 of Building B in the Modern Trends area.
The company said the market will allow it to reach a large number of retailers in the Western U.S. and in Western Canada, as well as retailers from Latin America.
"The depth and breadth of Palliser line with its infinite ability to configure product and cover is a business model that fits perfectly with the small- to medium-size retailer in Western states," said Cary Benson, president of sales and marketing. "We know that many of these retailers attend the Vegas market and this creates the opportunity or them to view the Palliser line and for us to showcase the product and its possibilities."
Benson said the company will display about 50 groups representing all categories with a mix of best sellers and new introductions.
