Wright of Thomasville Offers Budget-Friendly Top of Bed

Wright of Thomasville will introduce a budget-friendly top-of-bed line at the Jan. 30-Feb. 3 Las Vegas Furniture Market.

The new line fills a need for more cost-effective options to dress and protect merchandise, while satisfying the need for curb appeal on the showroom floor.

Wright will offer the line in polyester twill and microfiber. Both styles are available with an upgrade "Plus" option, featuring a reinforced felt backing. Queen body pillow and foot protector in "Budget Twill" retails for $32.50 to $48 and the "Budget Micro" offerings retail from $41 to $58.50. Color choices for the collection include black, natural, and navy.

Wright of Thomasville continues to offer the one-stop, turnkey, creative solutions for which the company is known. As part of the Wright Express Showroom Solutions program, the new top-of-bed line is available to customers within five days.

Wright of Thomasville's Las Vegas showroom is WMC-B1062.

"In the current economy, retailers need to watch their budgets more carefully, especially when it comes to point-of-purchase material," said Wright President and CEO Greg Wright. Oskar R. Huber, 78, Dies

Oskar R. Huber Oskar Richard Huber, 78, longtime president of the Oskar Huber Furniture store chain, died Thursday in Abington Hospice at Warminster of complications from a heart attack three weeks ago.

Huber was raised in Philadelphia, where his father founded the furniture company in 1927. He attended high school at the Admiral Farragut Academy, a boarding school then in Toms River, N.J. After attending the U.S. Naval Academy for three years, he went to work in his father's business in 1956, helping to expand from the original store in Philadelphia to locations in Ship Bottom,

Get It Now! Opens in Madison, Wis.

Furniture, appliance and electronics retailer Get It Now! opened its newest store in Madison, Wis., on Friday.

The 4,000-square-foot store offers name-brand merchandise from vendors such as Sony, Whirlpool, Ashley Furniture, Dell, Phillips and HP.

"From bedroom sets to washers and dryers, we're going to help people find what they need and a payment option that works for them," said Shane Erickson, store manager. "Our goal is to help every customer who walks through our door meet a home furnishings need."

The new store offers several payment options for customers looking to establish or re-build credit: purchase using cash or credit card; in-house financing with flexible payment plans and layaway.

Get It Now! sends payment data to a major credit bureau so that good payment histories work in consumers' favor.

"We've had customers at our other stores tell us their payment histories have helped them qualify for home loans," said Jamie Hall, district manager for Get It Now! "And they come back to us to help them furnish that new house, which we really appreciate."

Get It Now! also offers a 90-day, 'same as cash' option as well as free service on all appliances and electronics during the life of the installment loan contract. Same day delivery is an option available in most cases.

Get It Now!, a subsidiary of Plano, Texas-based Rent-A-Center, operates 24 stores in Wisconsin.

Value City Furniture on "Extreme Makeover"
