Naples, Fla., furniture retailer Clive Daniel Home, has named Kris Kolar vice president of merchandising and design.

"As the leaders of Robb & Stucky for three decades, our resources included a vast field of top notch professionals around the country," said President and CEO Daniel Lubner. "Kris Kolar, who served as our vice president of interior design for 15 years and led our award-winning interior design team to national recognition, was our first and only choice for this expanded new position."

Kolar received her BA in Interior Design from Miami University and her Masters in Business Administration from the University of Dayton. She also studied interior design in Italy and Paris. She began her career with Federated Department Stores, serving in key design positions at Rike's, in Dayton, Ohio; and Rich€™s in Atlanta, Ga., respectively. She was tapped as divisional vice president, interior design and home fashion for John Wanamaker of Philadelphia. Prior to joining Robb & Stucky, she was divisional vice president, interior design and home fashion for Woodward & Lothrop department store in Washington, D.C.

A Florida licensed interior designer, she is a professional member of the American Society of Interior Designers. She has been a resident of Southwest Florida since 1996, and lives in Naples with her husband, Jay Tillman.

The first Clive Daniel Home store, encompassing 85,000 square feet, opened in November and is located at 2777 Tamiami Trail in Naples. Its showrooms include more than 130 visual displays, boutiques and lifestyle galleries, including outdoor kitchens and patios. There's a custom framing shop, a lighting gallery, a linen shop, a gift boutique and a full home renovation department with kitchen, custom doors and hardware, and closet design.

An expansive flooring gallery features wood, stone and carpet selections, and the heirloom rug gallery showcases a collection of hand-knotted rugs from around the world.

The new showroom also features a wine bar, a cafe, a home theater, and the community "Chat Room," which is available for meetings, presentations and performances by local organizations. The company's warehouse facilities and corporate offices are in Fort Myers, Fla.

HFIA, TD Retail Team for Private Label Credit

By Home Furnishings Business in Customer Service on February 27, 2012

The Home Furnishings Independents Association has selected TD Retail Card Services' Renovate Card private label credit program.

Under the agreement, the Mahwah, N.J-based business unit of TD Bank NA, will offer HFIA's 1,110 retailer members nationwide a full range of services, custom financing options and other special benefits associated with the Renovate Card.

Created specifically for the home furnishings sector, the Renovate Card is a revolving private label consumer credit card that can be used for purchases of products or services at any merchant participating in the program. Merchants opening the individual consumer's account can have their store's name embossed on the card.

Retailers participating in the program can offer their customers a variety of special financing options, including six no-interest programs, as well as low-APR programs.

"Consumer financing is critically important for retailers to have available for their customers," said HFIA President Mary Frye. "With private label credit cards in customers' hands, more sales are made. HFIA was looking for an effective provider and is pleased to have found TD Retail Card Services. We believe the rates, plans, special promotions, and service provided by TD will prove to be invaluable to HFIA members. No minimum volume requirements and a program that is accessible to members across the country make the Renovate program from TD a smart choice."

Dallas-based HFIA offers independent home furnishings dealers business tools and solutions to help them operate more efficiently and, in return, more profitably.
