Twin-Star Expands in High Point

By Home Furnishings Business in High Point on April 5, 2012

Twin-Star International has almost tripled its High Point Furniture Market, adding 2,500 square feet to its showroom, 1-500 in Plaza Suites.

The parent company of brands including Tresanti Furniture, ClassicFlame Electric Fireplaces, Duraflame Stoves, and Black & Decker heaters will host a ribbon cutting and reception on Saturday, April 21, 4-6 p.m., in the expanded space.

New products will include LED SpectraFire and Infrared Inserts from ClassicFlame, and Tresanti Furniture will be showing new design collections with coordinating electric fireplaces, media consoles and wall systems, plus end tables with built-in thermoelectric coolers and home office pieces that cleverly disguise paper shredders and laptop storage.

"We're constantly looking for ways to bring added function and value to every piece of furniture we design," said Andy Bandremer, senior vice president. "Everything you'll see in our showroom this market has its own unique twist that makes it more than just a media console, or a night stand, or table."

Tresanti Furniture will be showing a media console integrated, not just with iPod capabilities, but with full home audio bars built-in as well.

Kingsdown Launches Training Videos

By Home Furnishings Business in Bedding on April 5, 2012

Bedding vendor Kingsdown has introduced a series of brief educational videos as part of its digital point-of-purchase displays for retail partners.

The videos can be used in three ways: first to train retail sales associates, second to educate consumers, and third to increase brand awareness and visibility on retail floors.

The first series of three videos titled "Cool Wave," "Arctic Wave," and "Chilly Wave," explain in easy to understand terms, the benefits of varying gel technologies being used in Kingsdown bedding products. The digital displays feature Dr. Robert Oexman, Director of the Sleep to Live Institute, in essence bringing an industry expert directly into retail locations.

"Consumers are very curious about the latest sleep technologies, particularly gel. By using these innovative POP displays, shoppers have access to a sleep expert right in the store who clearly explains the cooling and pressure relieving benefits of gel, which provides for a better night's sleep," said Mebane, N.C.-based Kingsdown President Frank Hood. "We know that shopping for a mattress can be an overwhelming process. That's why we are continually striving to make it easier by committing to training RSA€™s and educating consumers."

The videos are paired directly with bedMATCH diagnostic technology, which is designed to help consumers determine the best mattress and pillow options for their body type. The culmination of 15 years of research and the development of over six million profiles, the bedMATCH system uses 18 statistical measurements and more than 1,000 calculations to help consumers to select their best bed.  This innovative retail tool is changing the way people shop for and select their mattress.

While the videos are designed to work directly with bedMATCH technology, all Kingsdown retail partners are given the opportunity to use the videos to bring a more dynamic curb appeal to their floors while enhancing the shopper€™s experience.

Infant and juvenile furniture vendor Creations Baby will make its High Point Furniture Market debut this month.

The Home Meridian International division will unveil product in HMI's newly renovated showroom at 220 Elm.

"We are excited about our showroom at the High Point Market. It truly provides us with an additional venue to connect with our current retailers, as well as open new doors," said Kevin Walker, president of Creations Baby. "Retailers gain the benefit of having many of the HMI brands in one place--at one market."

In addition to Creations Baby, HMI companies showing at 220 Elm include Pulaski Furniture, Samuel Lawrence Furniture and PRI (Prime Resources International).

According to Home Meridian International CEO George Revington, the addition of Creations Baby to the April market mix supports the company's strategic plan of efficiency and accessibility for retailers.

Creations Baby has partnered with Sydney Cavanaugh for exclusive designs. Product is styled to adapt from infant to tween and teen furniture and meets or exceeds all consumer product safety standards. Creations Baby is one of the few manufacturers receiving an "A" rating from Baby Bargains.

Wright Global Graphics Introduces SnapLabel Package

By Home Furnishings Business in Display on April 5, 2012

Wright Global Graphics will introduce a new package offering to its SnapLabel turn-key QR Code solution.

Wright's cross-platform compatible SnapLabel helps companies reach consumers by integrating printed materials with mobile-friendly online content--such as marketing and product information--to consumers' smartphones.

The new option, which starts at $1,895, includes a 2D QR Code creation and a three page microsite designed with existing content provided by the client. Wright's graphic designers work with the companies to create the sites and allow for three revision sessions.

"Mobile marketing is exciting, limitless, and has transformed the way companies build and shape brand awareness among today€™s consumers," said Thomasville, N.C.-based Wright President and CEO Greg Wright. "Savvy marketing managers know that QR technology is the fastest way to connect with buyers interested in learning more about a specific product or service. Since its launch three years ago, SnapLabel has offered our customers an advantage over many competing QR code services because our 2D barcode is cross-platform compatible, making it accessible to any consumer, regardless of the smartphone they€™re using."
