A Winston-Salem manufacturer of hospitality furnishings is moving to Advance to gain more space for a projected growth spurt. Beaufurn LLC, founded in 1996, is taking over the former Jeffco plant, a 72,000-square-foot building at 5269 U.S. 158. It plans to begin production there by Aug. 1. Beaufurn comes from the words "Beautiful Furniture." It designs and makes high-quality furnishings, such as tables, chairs and lounge seating, for hotels, restaurants, universities, airports, food courts, coffee shops and commercial stores. Tip-over accidents cause one death every two weeks, according to an 10-year study by the Consumer Product Safety Commision.
The furniture industry wants retailers and consumers to understand the risks of television and furniture tip-over and know how to prevent it. Safety was the theme at Saturday mornings press breakfast, officially ushering in the 2012 spring High Point Market, which began Saturday.

CBS has inked its first licensing deal for "The Good Wife," in the form of a new line of home decor overseen by set decorator Beth Kushnick that Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams and Interlude Home will produce in the fall.
The products, to include furniture, lighting and accessories, will be shown off this weekend at the High Point Market furniture trade show in North Carolina. CBS will introduce the products during episodes of "The Good Wife's" upcoming fourth season before selling them through stores and websites operated by Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams and Interlude Home.
