Accessories Resource Team, the association for retailers, sales representatives, manufacturers and suppliers involved in the home accent furnishings industry, has formed an under-40 associate group.

The mission of the group is to provide education, mentoring, and best practice benchmarking opportunities for industry professionals in the under 40-age group.

€œThe board of directors of ART recognized that many young people in this industry are generational and have not been exposed to ideas and experiences outside the industry," said Steve Crowder, president of ART. "We wanted to provide a forum and structure for this learning to take place. ART plans to create an environment of fostering young professionals in order to retain this talent and recruit more of the same. This initiative creates the opportunity for unique activities targeted for this age group.€

The first under 40 event is a tour of the Zappos corporate Facility in Henderson, Nev., and is scheduled for Tuesday, July 31 at 6 p.m. during the Las Vegas Furniture Market.

During the tour, participants will learn about the Zappos family approach to customer loyalty, human resources, recruiting, training, and culture creation.
Transportation will be provided.

Anyone interested in going on the tour should contact the ART office at 704.376.4278 or e-mail.
