Showtime Int'l Pavilions to Feature 19 Exhibitors

The International Pavilions at Showtime, Dec. 2-5 in High Point, will feature 19 companies from China, Taiwan and India.

The International Pavilions are located on the temporary exhibit floor in the Suites at Market Square, which is owned and operated by International Market Centers,  and will be open to buyers throughout the event.
 
€œThe June International Pavilions received big accolades and December promises to be even more focused on current fabrics and constructions that are most popular in the US market,€ said Tom Mitchell, president of home furnishings for International Market Centers.
 
These new companies will enhance the exhibitor offering at Showtime by joining more than 165 exhibitors that already participate, including 80 permanent showrooms and 85 temporary exhibitors.
 
Zhejiang Samexpo Exhibition Co.,ltd (Samexpo) from China is bringing five leading textile suppliers from the Yuhang district, which is famous for its upholstery fabrics, home textiles and curtain accessories.  The organization was founded in 2009, and mainly deals in exhibition services of organizing local companies to take part in professional exhibitions in different countries, such as America, Mexico, Russia, Panama, and many European countries. Chinese textile companies are producing new ranges of textiles that are good quality and competitively priced.
 
Hangzhou Biya Interior Textile Co.,ltd was established in 1975 and specializes in upholstery fabric for sofas, curtain fabric,  and decorative fabrics. The fabrics export to Europe, America, Canada and Australia.

Hangzhou Shamash Fabric Co., Ltd was established in 1984 and specializes in manufacturing of silk fabrics, including mixture, velvet of silk, nylon, polyester and flocking. The company exports to Europe, America, and Southeast Asia.

Hangzhou Tata Tex. Co., Ltd. is a professional home textile fabric manufacturer in Hangzhou. The main products include Tata Tex sofa fabrics, curtain fabrics, and a large selection of novelty fabrics.  Current exports are to Europe, South America, and the Middle East.

Hangzhou Da Tons Trading Co.,ltd is located in Linping Zhejiang,  which is the textile center for fine upholstery fabrics in China. Da Tons is partnered with Tongxiang Tenghui Textile Co.,ltd., the leading mill specializing in original designs and upholstery fabric production  for chenille fabrics and polyester linen constructions for sofas.  In 2011, the line was expanded to include suede fabric constructions, velvet, and fine dobbies.
 
HangZhou KAMPF Textile Co.,Ltd was founded in 2001.  The company manufactures sofa and curtain fabric, including Jacquard and patterned valets, printed fabric, and linen-cotton constructions.
 
Ouyida International Exhibition (Beijing) Company provides exporters a range of overseas exhibition platforms and professional services, and will be bringing five leading Chinese sofa fabric, home textiles and artificial leather suppliers to the International Pavilions at Showtime in December. Participating companies are:
 
Wujiang Yuhua Textile Co., Ltd, established in 2000, specializes in textile and apparel fabrics developed by it owns group of engineering technicians and experienced staff.  The company has offices in Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, and Wujiang Yuhua.
 
Founded in 1998, Jiangyin Fei Long Plastics Co., Ltd is a professional PVC and PU Leather manufacturer. Annual turnover has reached 32 million U.S Dollars. Fei Long is selling products to more than forty different countries and regions including the USA, Middle and South America, South East Asia, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.
 
Haining Tiangong Textile Co,. Ltd is known for its leather constructions used in garments and hometextiles. With new high-quality equipment, monthly output is more than 500,000 meters. Current customers are the US, Italy, Norway, Spain, South Africa, Syria, Algeria, and the Middle East.
 
Hangzhou Tianchen Leather Plant specializes in PU leather production for shoes, sofa, home decoration, and high-end clothing. Over 50 percent of Tianchen€™s production is exported to Europe, America, and Northern Asia. Tianchen has constructed a special range for upholstery use and passes all US standards for quality and performance specifications.
 
Shaoxing County Lancome Import and Export Ltd specializes in providing a one-stop source for all upholstery constructions.  The company exports to Western Europe, South East Asia, and North and South America.
 
The Taiwan Textile Federation (TTF) has been servicing the Taiwan textile industry since 1975 through market promotion, product design, developing a strong export business for Taiwan Manufacturers. TTF is ISO 9001 certified for procedures and quality control with all its members.  Continuing its leadership role in developing strong international trade, the TTF has recruited six leading Taiwanese upholstery fabrics, home textiles and curtain accessories suppliers to participate in the International Pavilions at Showtime this December.
 
Competitive pricing, proven delivery, and consistent quality are strong assets held by all the Taiwanese manufacturers. The Textile industry in Taiwan has moved into more performance based fabrics for apparel and home textiles Taiwan has utilized the advantage of man-made fibers with function and fashion to produce new ranges of upscale upholstery and home textile fabrics.
 
Everest Textile Co. is a vertical integration company with its own weaving, dyeing, and finishing. The annual capacity of 36 million square meters makes Everest capable of servicing both large and small customers. Included in this vertical integration is coating, embossing, and lamination processing.
 
Loongchin Textile Co. is a knitting manufacturer with a 35 year history and is also vertically integrated with its own dye house.  Sales volume exceeds 10 million USD yearly, and current best sellers are 100 percent polyester suede peached fabrics and light mesh fabrics.

P & R International, with corporate offices in Taiwan and company owned facilities in China, is one of Asia€™s leading suppliers of window curtains, shower curtains, table cloths, and special blanket items.
 
Piing Heh is one of the major drapery hardware manufacturers in Asia, dedicated to developing and manufacturing curtain rods and curtain related products since 1991. Hui Zhou Sheng Chen Metal Co. is one of Taiwan€™s leading manufacturers of custom made zinc, aluminum, steel, and cast iron curtain poles and accessories. The International Pavilions at Showtime will feature three additional companies this December, including:
 
Weierni Textile Leather of China is one of the leaders in PVC, PU, and bonded leather fabrics in Asia. Fabrics currently are used in the automotive, shoe, luggage, and home upholstery fabric markets.
 
Swan Silks is a premiere producer of original designs for fine jacquards for upholstery and intricate fine designs for drapery and pillow fabrics. Headquartered in Bangladore, India, Swan offers a new range and different variety of constructions to the US market.
 
Indian Silks will make its US debut at the upcoming Showtime event with a preview of new ranges and collections. The company produces fine jacquards weaves for the mattress ticking, drapery, and upholstery fabric markets.

After thousands of layoffs in northeastern Mississippi's furniture industry, some of the remaining companies are hiring. And the state is subsidizing that hiring with tax credits and training money tha tmay run into the millions of dollars.

IM Centers Names Lee Hershberg VP for Gift & Home Decor

International Market Centers has promoted Lee Hershberg to vice president of gift and home decor.

The move is part of strategic modifications, including promotions, lateral moves and new appointments, to streamline International Market Centers' gift and home décor team. The changes, which are effective immediately, will create a single unified team supporting cross-category leasing for permanent and temporary presentations at World Market Center Las Vegas; and for permanent home décor floors at the International Home Furnishings Center in High Point.

€œWe are maximizing team leasing efforts to take best advantage of individual category expertise,€ said Bob Maricich, CEO of International Market Centers. €œThis effort mirrors the strategic development of Gift+Home at Las Vegas Market, and facilitates its growth as the industry€™s premier western marketplace.€

As vice president, Hershberg continues to report to Dorothy Belshaw, IMC€™s president of the Gift and Home Décor Division. Hershberg will manage all category related leasing efforts to include prospect development, key tenant and prospect account management, and new and renewal leasing activity. His team includse Boyd Tasker and Ron Radin, both leasing directors of Home Décor based in Las Vegas; as well as RJ Maricich, newly appointed leasing manager of Home Décor, who is based in High Point.

Pam Williams has also been promoted, assuming the role of leasing director of Gift, reporting to Hershberg. Williams assumes management of day-to-day gift leasing activity, and will manage Gift+Home at Las Vegas Market tradeshow leasing. In addition to responsibility for the addition of new categories, as well as growth and repositioning of the temporaries in Building C, she also maintains direct leasing responsibility for global craft and vintage accounts. Her team members include: Cassie Catania, leasing manager, Gift; Sheri Makransky, leasing manager, Gift; Lindsay Pearson, leasing manager, Gift+Home Temporaries; Joy Jansen, leasing manager, Gift+Home Temporaries; and Keith Davis, leasing manager, Home and Design Temporaries.

As Vice President of the Las Vegas Design Center, Paul Watson will assume management of the c-ONE temporaries, working with Dorothy Belshaw and Keith Davis to launch a merchandised and juried presentation of design-forward, market-time showrooms on C1 for the Summer 2013 Market.

Experienced industry experts also have been recruited to supplement the team€™s efforts in consultancy positions. Terence Morris, a 25-year industry veteran who has held positions with AmericasMart Atlanta and the California Gift Show, will work with the gift leasing team to accelerate participation by industry leaders at Las Vegas Furniture Market.

Cort Opens 2 California Stores

Cort Business Services has opened two stores in California-one in San Diego and the other in Cupertino.

The furniture rental showroom in San Diego is 4,000-square-feet and features a contemporary design. The 16,000-square-foot store in Cupertino features a combination of contemporary and traditional elements and materials.

"We are excited to offer a fresh, new furniture rental experience to our customers in the San Diego area," said Tim Bruce, general manager of Cort's San Diego showroom. "From the moment our customers walk through the door they will be greeted with a bright, crisp environment and the excellent customer service they have come to expect from Cort." 

The San Diego location offers a customer engagement area allowing Cort rental consultants to interact with customers in a more relaxed setting. Polished concrete flooring, balanced with carpet, as well as high gloss and other non-traditional wall coverings are scattered throughout the design. Three of the four walls in the space feature floor-to-ceiling windows.

Located just a few miles from the Apple campus, the clearance center section of the new Cort location offers 8,000 square feet of product selections. The rental showroom features subdued lighting and dark open ceilings.
