The International Furniture Fair Singapore, ASEAN Furniture Show and associated decor and hospitality events are set for March 9-12.
New show brand elements include:
* New Country Pavilion: Country pavilions have always been a regular feature in IFFS. Each year, IFFS receives strong support from exhibitors from China, India, Malaysia, Taiwan, as well as the ASEAN countries.
* New Exhibition Category: The trilogy of shows also expands its scope by adding a new exhibition category. For the first time, The Hospitality Show will feature companies in a segment for "Architectural & Design Services" that to increase the show's design quotient.
* New Collections & Exhibitors
Fourteen percent of repeat exhibitors taking on larger stands this March; and more than 80 percent of exhibitors will be presenting their designs for the first time.
So far, a total of 740 buying groups and delegations from around the world have registered their interest to visit the trilogy of shows. Those include U.S. companies Restoration Hardware and Furniture Row.

Home décor vendor Global Views has donated $8,200 from a sales program benefitting Gift for Life.
Gift for Life is the gift, stationery and home decor industries' leading charitable organization. Global Views made a donation to Gift for Life for each Climbing Man product sold at wholesale from October through January.
We are pleased to support Gift for Life and their mission with this program, said David Gebhart, co-founder and CEO of Global Views. We encourage the industry to assist this organization continue to help more people receive the services and education they need.

Rosso's Furniture is going to the 2013 Home Furnishings Industry Conference after winning a Next Generation-Now raffle at the recent Las Vegas Furniture Market.
Ashley Furniture sponsored the give-away to the June 2-4 event in New Orleans.
It isnt often that retailers, especially the next generation of retailers, get a chance to convene and network with each other," said NGN member Matthew Rosso of Rosso's Furniture, Gilroy, Ga. "I am very excited to attend the HFIC and have the opportunity to network and learn from my peers. I can hardly wait ¦ but I guess I will have to.
The Next Generation-Now networking group reported a another successful Las Vegas market, providing the next generation of the industry education and networking opportunities.
Early Monday morning of the show, the group gathered in the Retailer Resource Center for hot waffles before enjoying a panel discussion on operating a business with multiple generations. Panelists from Royal Furniture and Ivan Smith Furniture shared their ideas and experiences of working within multi-generational family businesses.
Tuesday evening, NGN hosted its Market Bash in the One-six Club and saw a record number in attendance, 28 percent higher than the Summer Market event. Sponsored by Coaster, the highlight of the evening was the craps gaming tables where NGN members could learn this game of chance while networking with each other.
The NGN Bash was a huge hit, with many new faces showing up. Our goals for the event were to network, be social and have funand we accomplished all three. It was the best Bash yet, said NGN Events Chair Sara Wedding, FurnitureDealer.net. Thank you to our Bash sponsor Coaster, which allowed us to bring in a DJ and craps tables. Also a big thanks to Ashley Furniture for giving away a trip to the 2013 HFIC--it was the highlight of the night.

Retailer Haverty Furniture Cos. (NYSE: HVT and HVT-A) has declared a cash dividend on the two classes of stock.
The dividend is payable Tuesday, March 19, to stockholders of record at the close of business Monday, March 4. The dividend on the common stock is $0.04 per share, and for the class A stock, it is $0.0375 per share.
The retailer will release fourth quarter and fiscal 2012 financial results Monday evening, and will host a conference call Tuesday at 10 a.m. to discuss the results.

Furniture retailer Walter E. Smithe has turned to Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan for its latest television spot.
The commercial, which will begin airing in the Chicago market Sunday during the Oscar red carpet shows, starts out with the Smithe brothers playing a game of musical chairs in a wrestling ring with Corgan. Corgan, who started a wrestling company Resistance Pro in 2011, takes a shove, and then calls for backup from a few pro wrestlers.
