Ethan Allen Declares Dividend

Ethan Allen Interiors Inc. (ETH), Danbury, Conn., on Tuesday declared a regular quarterly cash dividend of $0.05 per share payable to shareholders of record as of July 9.

The dividend will be paid on July 2.

"We are pleased to continue to be in a position to pay dividends to our shareholders," said Ethan Allen Chairman and CEO Farooq Kathwari. "We plan to announce our financial results ahead of our analyst conference call scheduled for 11 a.m. Eastern Time on Wednesday, April 28. We intend to discuss the details of our results and the status of our many initiatives during that call."

GuildMaster Announces "Show Your Stuff" Contest Winners

Furniture, accent and accessory vendor has named 10 winners for its "Show Your Stuff" retail display contest.

The contest generated a total of more than 750 fans casting almost 7,000 ballots to recognize the most outstanding retail displays across the United States and to support the favorite charities of the winning dealers.
 
Grand Prize winner CasaBella Interiors, Brandon, Miss., will receive $5,000 in GuildMaster product; $1,000 for its charity, Community Animal Rescue and Adoption; and 500 trees planted in the retailer's honor. The other nine winners will receive $1,000 for their charity, $1,000 in GuildMaster product, and 500 trees to be planted in their honor.
 
"We are blessed to have such a highly engaged and passionate group of people working with us," said Steve Crowder, GuildMaster CEO. "All of the displays showed an outstanding level of ingenuity and truly showed off the beauty and range of the GuildMaster product. We would like to say a big 'thank you' to all who participated and voted."
 
GuildMaster retailers posted photos of their best displays on the GuildMaster on Tour Facebook site from Feb. 22 through Mar. 19. Fans then voted for their favorite displays through Mar. 31. 
 
The Top 10 displays in order are: CasaBella Interiors; Domain XCIV, Fort Worth, Texas; Cottage & Vine, Columbia, S.C.; Home and Garden, Covington, La.; First Fruit Collection, Collierville, Tenn.; Room 22, Oklahoma City; The Home Accessory Company, San Antonio, Texas; Inspire (an element of Karen L. Benson Interior Design), Fort Myers, Fla.; Furnitureland South, Jamestown, N.C.; Wild Hare; Southern Pines, N.C.
 
"After seeing the energy and enthusiasm the retailers put into these creative displays we can't wait to see what happens next," Crowder said. "We have many more fun and creative ideas in store for the next GuildMaster on Tour."

Lorts, Pepper Berry Launch "EarthCare Inside"

Lorts Manufacturing and Pepper Berry are introducing the eco-friendly program called "EarthCare Inside" at the 2010 Spring International Home Furnishings Market in High Point in partnership with Hickory Springs Manufacturing Company, a major component supplier to both companies, to incorporate environmentally friendly components throughout their furniture lines.

Goodyear, Ariz.-based Lorts Manufacturing produces custom-made bedroom furniture, as well as hardwood dining furniture, occasional pieces, armoires, and home office wall units. Pepper Berry, Vernon, Calif., manufactures a designer furniture line, which features a wide range of fabrics and custom upholstery choices.
 
The EarthCare Inside program was developed by Hickory Springs to offer furniture manufacturers environmentally friendly components including seat cushions made from its soy-based Preserve foam, springs forged from recycled steel, webbing woven with 100 percent recycled Repreve® yarn, and back cushion fibers fashioned from recycled content.

"It is the right thing to do for the long-term health of the industry and the environment."

Home Furnishings Hits $1 Million Mark for City of Hope

The National Home Furnishings Industry raised $1 million for the City of Hope so far for the 2009-2010 campaign.

The total was announced at the Spirit of Life dinner Sunday evening honoring the Cartledge and Bennett families from Grand Home Furnishings, Roanoke, Va., and Joseph Cory Sr. of Cory Home Delivery. The event took place during the High Point Market.

The Spirit of Life award is presented to individuals who exemplify the ideals and values that have guided City of Hope for nearly a century, and whose professional and humanitarian
accomplishments are worthy of celebration.
