Marge Carson Gives High Point Showroom a Makeover

Visitors to Marge Carson's High Point Furniture Market showroom will see a completely renovated building and space.
The high-end home furnishings vendor put an architectural makeover and a new roof on the 50,000-square-foot Hamilton Place building; and installed a new air-conditioning system. Marge Carson, Pomona. Calif., occupies 29,000 square feet of the building.
“We were thrilled to be able to buy the building in 2011,” said Marge Carson CEO Jim LaBarge, “but what was originally two buildings with an alley between them had been cobbled together; it wasn’t an integrated approach. We wanted to tie together architecturally what had been there for more than 20 years, not only for us but for our tenants, too.”
The overall design, he adds, reflects the company’s point of view.
“The traditional ‘bones’ of the building have been given a contemporary twist, which is precisely how Marge Carson approaches the world of design,” LaBarge said.
