Eric Cook To Run Hamilton Spill Case Goods Effort

Eric Cook has joined Richmond, B.C.-based importer Hamilton Spill Furniture Group as vice president for case goods. He reports to Gary Harmon, senior vice president of sales, merchandising and marketing.
Along with his senior management responsibilities, Cook will be highly active in all aspects of merchandising, product development and marketing of Hamilton Spill case goods. He will conceive, design, develop and merchandise new and inspired case goods for the company; provide engineering direction and leadership to the sourcing team in Asia; and will work in a similar capacity with the Asian manufacturing team.
Cooks responsibilities also include ongoing case goods training of the Hamilton Spill sales force in North America. Externally, he will work closely with Hamilton Spills retail customers to assist in the development of new products tailored to their individual requirements.
Cook has a Bachelors degree in fine arts with an emphasis in furniture design, and has more than 10 years of industry experience, most recently working as vice president of design for Bush Furniture Inds. Prior to that, he was with Ashley Furniture where served as senior bedroom designer for the Millennium Division, and later as case goods design manager.
Eric is highly regarded by his colleagues in the industry, and many know him for his exceptional work ethic, his passion for the furniture business and his keen intellect, said Hamilton Spill President Rick Verjee. Harmon added that Cooks appointment represents another rung in the Hamilton Spills plan to achieve the $500 million mark in sales.
