Magnussen Fills Merchandising Post

Magnussen Home Furnishings, High Point, N.C., has appointed industry veteran James DeRose vice president of merchandising.
DeRose, who reports to Vice President of Merchandising and Design Nathan Cressman, was previously merchandise manager for wood products at Lane Furniture Industries. Experienced in merchandising, retail, marketing, design and manufacturing, DeRose also has held positions with SLF, Sears Homelife, Alari SRL and European Furniture Warehouse.
At Magnussen, he will oversee product development from concept to approved sample, and also will manage, lead and develop the merchandising team.
Jims wide-ranging experience, terrific eye for product and team-oriented attitude make him a valuable addition to Magnussen Home, Cressman said. Jim has a vital understanding and proven track record of product development, including concept, design, pricing, manufacturing, quality and sales.
