Foamex International, Linwood, Pa., announced Monday that it is investing $3 million in its Tupelo, Miss., factory as part of an expansion that includes the installation of automated fabrication equipment. As part of the project, Foamex will consolidate its fabrication and pourline facilities, which are currently located about 1 mile apart.
Foamex Chairman and CEO Raymond Mabus said the project will make the Tupelo operation more safe, cost-efficient and environmentally friendly.
This capital infusion represents the largest manufacturing investment Foamex has made in the state of Mississippi since 1994 and should be seen as a clear sign of our commitment to the furniture and bedding markets, he said.
Foamex is a leading producer of polyurethane foam-based solutions, serving the bedding, furniture, carpet cushion and automotive markets.
