Seabrook Classics Acquires Southport Furniture

By Home Furnishings Business in Bedroom on April 2007 Seabrook Classics of Beaufort, S.C., has acquired Southport Furniture.

Both companies offer coastal cottage designs.

€œWe are excited to expand our offerings and reach into new markets with the addition of Southport Furniture,€ said Greg Bosiack, president and chief executive officer of Seabrook Classics. €œBy providing our customers with a variety of price points, we€™re opening the door for more people to enjoy the beautiful coastal cottage style in their homes.€

The Seabrook Classics line is a high-end, all-wood, painted furniture collection, featuring Low Country elements, including plantation shutters, seagrass panels and cut-outs of coastal motifs such as palm trees, fish and pelicans. The line is bench-built and available in 40 paint colors and available through more than 100 high-end retailers and designers. The company€™s Southport line will offer furniture in the painted coastal cottage style without custom options and at a lower price point.

In addition, Seabrook Classics has named Steve Robertson vice president.

Robertson was a partner and president of Southport Furniture prior to the acqusition. He also has taken an equity stake in Seabrook Classics. In his new role, he will focus on the sales and distribution for both brands.

€œI am excited about the merging of the two companies and my new role with Seabrook Classics,€ says Robertson. €œWith the acquisition of Southport Furniture, Seabrook Classics can now offer a greater assortment of coastal cottage furniture from the custom abilities of the Seabrook Classics line to the lower price point of Southport Furniture.€
