Magnussen Readies New High Point Showroom

Case goods vendor Magnussen Home Furnishings is supporting its move into upholstery with a new, larger High Point Furniture Market showroom.

The entrance to the 60,000-square-foot space, located on the 10th floor of the International Home Furnishings Center's Commerce wing, space C1003, is between the Hooker Furniture and Vaughan-Bassett Furniture showrooms.

The company has occupied about 40,000 square feet in IHFC's Main wing for the past 10 years. The new additional space increases Magnussen’s total showroom by 40 percent. The extra space will let Magnussen showcase its new upholstery line, which will include 24 new upholstery groups with coordinating occasional table groups and some coordinating entertainment units and media consoles. The new space in Commerce and renovated space in Main will also feature the majority of Magnussen’s 80 occasional table groups, 40 master bedroom groups, 10 youth bedroom groups and nine casual dining groups. The old space and new space will be adjoined between the Main and Commerce buildings; and entry to the combined space is available only through the Commerce wing.

The upholstered furniture manufacturer Michael Nicholas Designs also will occupy 5,000 square feet of this newly renovated space. Michael Nicholas Designs has shown its product line in the Magnussen showroom for the past four years and will continue to showcase its original designs in this new Magnussen showroom space.

The new showroom's fresh new look and more sophisticated setting will reflect current fashion and interior design trends incorporating a warm neutral color palette and more sophisticated and natural architectural elements. Highlights of the space include a more contemporary and inviting front lobby area, which will include a welcoming bar/lounge area and will feature a display of groups from all product categories to highlight the company’s new “Whole Home Solution” and QuickFlex mix and ship program.

"The showroom and its new layout provide a unique configuration and total view of our whole home solution that we can now provide our customers,” said Nathan Cressman, president. “This new showroom helps to provide our customers with a fresh perspective of Magnussen Home Furnishings enhancing the presentation of our furniture and provides our buyers with an inviting buying atmosphere. We are very pleased to be able to expand our Showroom and unveil this new space during this Fall Market.”

“Magnussen has been a mainstay in the IHFC many years, and we are thrilled to see their business and product offering expanding,” said Julie Messner, vice president of leasing for International Market Centers, which owns the IHFC.
