EJ Lauren Has New High Point Showroom

The company will exhibit in a freestanding, completely remodeled 10,000-square-foot showroom at 310 S. Main St. The building features classic crown moldings, brick walls, tin ceilings and other decorative touches. The showroom also includes a kitchen and serving bar where food and drinks are available throughout the day for retail customers.

“We’re exhibiting in a beautiful historic building that is the perfect match for our lifestyle furnishings,” said Tony Ocampo, owner and president. “It’s a relaxing setting that is very easy to shop.”

EJ Lauren, which had previously only shown at the Las Vegas Market, had a soft opening at the April High Point Market, and plans are in the works for a grand opening at its new showroom during the October market.

Ocampo, a 35-year industry veteran who is the founder and former owner of Golden Oaks Upholstery, said a High Point presence makes sense because of EJ Lauren’s growing national distribution and new channels that it is reaching out to.

At market, EJ Lauren will introduce four to five new upholstery groups across each of its core style categories, including Linen, Lapel (menswear-inspired designs), Loft, Luxe and Lifestyle. Along with sofas, love seats and sectionals, the groups also include correlating accent chairs and ottomans.

“We are focusing on contemporary and transitional this market,” said Tammy Hein , director of design and development. “We will be showing some eye-catching camelback designs and a very fresh color story, including vibrant blues and greens.”

One of the new contemporary models will include a cover with over 30 color options, Hein said: “It’s available in a rainbow of colors, all in stock with our standard two-week turnaround on orders.”

“We work closely with retailers to offer them a program that suits their needs," she added. "With hundreds of custom fabric-to-frame options and quick lead times, the possibilities are endless.”

Founded in 2009, EJ Lauren is based in Paramount, Calif., where it makes all its products. The company sells a mix of medium-sized to large accounts, building products to order in two weeks. Retail price points range from $599 to $3,999.
