From Home Furnishing Business

My Home Furnishings to Premiere in High Point

A new case goods importer, My Home Furnishings, will debut at this fall's High Point Furniture Market.

The privately held Mt. Airy, N.C.-based company, will focus primarily on the youth and second-bedroom segments of the home furnishings market. My Home’s organizers include industry veterans Gene Clark and James Millner , and other individuals inside and outside the industry. The company will introduce four collections at the upcoming market.

My Home’s model is to operate with a limited amount of overhead while working with customers to provide value-added product with creative designs in youth and second bedroom. Target retail pricing will be $799-$999 for a three-piece group.

Clark, previously with Ligna USAVaughan-Bassett Furniture and Bassett Furniture Inds., serves as president and CEO of new venture. Millner serves as vice president of merchandising/product development. His prior experience includes Opus Designs and tenures with companies such as Stanley FurnitureHooker FurnitureMagnussen and Lea Inds.

“We believe that given the recent changes within the industry and some on the horizon we see a window of opportunity for a company with the right management, and focus,” Clark said.

My Home already has secured warehouse space in North Carolina to facilitate warehousing for its’ key accounts. My Home will show at High Point Market in Space 877 of the International Home Furnishings Center's Green wing.
