"Home" Sculpture by Michael Aram to Grace Decor Center in Vegas

Michael Aram will celebrate the opening of its new Las Vegas Furniture Market showroom on Tuesday when it debuts “HOME,” a 1,514-pound sculpture in the shape of a nest created exclusively for World Market Center.
Michael Aram, artist and founder of his eponymous luxury home decor brand, and his team produced the piece in India over three months through casting, hand forging, welding and other methods. The six-foot tall installation was then shipped piece by piece, taking nearly a month to arrive to its new home, the lobby of the Décor center where it will stay permanently.
“For me, there is no better metaphor for home than a nest,” says Aram. “I wanted the sculpture to be perceived first on a visceral level. Its universal twigs and golden eggs represent hope, potential, dreams and nurturing, the things we look to find in a home. In the case of a design-centered environment like this, the eggs also symbolize the concept of ideas brimming over.”
The brand offers a variety of products ranging from tableware, home fragrance, furniture and lighting to textiles. Aram’s work fuses the line between fine and decorative art as the pieces are all handmade, created with age old Indian traditional metalworking techniques. These ancient traditions used to create the Michael Aram collections also were used to create the sculpture.
The Michael Aram showroom is in World Market Center-C198.
