Jerome's Furniture Expands into L.A. Market

Top 100 furniture retailer Jerome's Furniture is moving into the Los Angeles market in the fourth quarter of this year. The move will take the company's store count from eight to nine.
The retailer is taking over a former Wickes location at 18850 Hawthorne Blvd. in Torrance, Calif.
"We are excited to move up into L.A.," said Lee Goodman , president and CEO. "Our research shows the area needs a home furnishings retail store for people who want style, but don't want to overspend for it. We are different from local competitors in so many ways, but consumers find the most refreshing aspect to be our wide selection of styles and our honest pricing policy."
The 59-year-old, family-owned retailer operates under a one-price-everyday strategy.
"We find our clientele appreciates the respect we show them in how we price our offerings," Goodman said. "We strive to exceed the expectation of buying furniture in every way."
Jerome's will take on a renovation project of the location to ensure customers receive the best experience possible when shopping. As part of the 50,000-square-foot retail center, the location will have a wide selection of furniture for both indoors and out. It will also house a Jerome's Dream Shop, the retailer's store-within-a-store focused on bedding.
The new location will also have a "Jerry's Bloopers" store. Jerry Navarra , namesake, chairman, and spokesperson explains it.
"The Bloopers store is a bit of a treasure hunt as merchandise changes daily," he said. "These are slightly distressed pieces, overstocks, and vendor over runs and it is here where the sharpest deals are found."
Hiring for the store will begin in the third quarter with the new location bringing about 45 new jobs to the area.
