Magnussen Makes Move to Upholstery

Case goods vendor Magnussen Home Furnishings will expand into upholstery with an initial offering set for the July 29-August 2 Las Vegas Furniture Market.

Magnussen will preview one collection, which will feature a sofa, loveseat and chair along with coordinating occasional tables, at Las Vegas Furniture Market. The full launch, featuring more than 60 pieces, will be take place at the October High Point Furniture Market.

“Our upholstery line was developed in collaboration with Michael Nicholas Designs  and is positioned as a line to provide a whole home solution with a twist,” said Nathan Cressman , president of Magnussen Home, New Hamburg, Ontario. “With versatile fashion applications and finishes across all product offerings, Magnussen Home will be a leader in the seamless, yet eclectic whole home experience. A one stop shop.”

The line will promote a “whole home solution” by progressively marrying the upholstery to Magnussen’s signature finishes and designs with coordinating occasional tables and/or coordinating casual dining and entertainment furniture.

The Magnussen Upholstery line will showcase premium construction features and benefits to ensure a satisfying seat, ride and feel of each piece; and the line will display a variety of fashion textiles; vibrant colors, luxurious textures and beautiful patterns. The line’s ambitious styling, featuring traditional, transitional, lifestyle and contemporary motifs, will be complemented by coordinating table groups offered in styles, materials and finishes directly influenced by the upholstery line. Sofas will retail from $899 to $1,299; and occasional tables from $199 to $599.

Designed in North America and produced in Asia, the upholstery line ties into Magnussen's strengths in sourcing and its international logistics solutions. Upholstery becomes the newest member of Magnussen's QuickFlex Program, joining Master Bedroom, Occasional, Casual Dining, Entertainment, and Next Generation Youth Bedroom in the ability to allow multiple groups to mix on a single container. The company’s de-humidified Asian Distribution Center (the industry’s only facility to completely de-humidify its atmosphere, according to Magnussen) provides its partners a unique solution by the ability to mix a variety of product categories and groups, allowing for immediate participation in an eclectic home solution with minimal risk.
