Abbyson Hosts Designer Business Model Event at HP Market

Case goods and upholstery resource Abbyson is partnering with tech leader Ivy and leading interior designers to host an event during this month’s High Point Market, “Creating a Business Model that Works for You,” on Sunday, April 15 at 4:00 p.m.

The complimentary networking event and panel discussion will be held at Abbyson’s IHFC showroom (Floor 11 #C1156) and is open to all market attendees.  Guests should RSVP at the EventBrite page as limited space is available.

The panel will feature designer and author, Christopher Kennedy, Ivy Designer Vanessa Helmick of Fiore Home, and Ivy Designer Lori Paranjape of Mrs. Paranjape Design + Interiors, in Nashville. They will share strategies they use to develop profitable business models for their firms and offer advice on how to build a practice that works for designers.

The panel discussion kicks off at 4:00 p.m. with hors d'oeuvres and champagne followed by mingling with the panelists and fellow designers.

Lori Paranjape’s interior design firm, Mrs. Paranjape Design + Interiors, specializes in luxury residential and new construction—and takes a fresh twist on traditional design to projects around the country. Her work is published on a regular basis in shelter magazines, blogs and across social media, such as Domino, HGTV Magazine, People, and Style Me Pretty Living.

Christopher Kennedy brings a synthesis of big-city style and relaxed resort living to his work. Dubbed “The Ralph Lauren of the West Coast”, Christopher is a prolific designer with a growing product brand that exemplifies the modern California lifestyle. Combining Jet-Set nostalgia with California modernism, Christopher’s work and products have been featured by: Dwell Magazine; Luxe, Interior Design; Elle Décor; California Homes; Coastal Living; Architectural Digest; and The Los Angeles Times.

Vanessa Helmick began her design career in California, relocating to Portland, Maine in 2010. She is the founder and principal designer of Fiore Interiors. Her interior design work has been featured in several magazines, newspapers and television features throughout New England.

Prior to the event, Ivy and Abbyson will host a demonstration at 3:00 p.m. to explain the benefits of both Ivy’s and Abbyson’s trade platforms.

The Abbyson Design Trade Program for Interior Designers and Retailers offers members an in-house liaison, exclusive trade pricing, access to over 2000 SKUs, swatches upon request, Freight Club services and more.

“Launching Abbyson’s Design Trade Program has fueled relationships with interior designers around the country, and they are always seeking new solutions and automation to help optimize their business and projects,” said Yavar Rafieha, president of Abbyson.

“Partnering on an educational and networking event with tech leader Ivy and top designers will enable us to share successful tools and practices that can help designers and retail professionals run more profitable businesses.”
