Hickory Chair Launches Paris Collection

Custom wood and upholstery resource Hickory Chair has partnered with Suzanne Kasler to launch a new collection, inspired by her love of Paris, for the High Point Spring Market, April 14 – 18.

The unveiling will take place Saturday, April 14, 5 – 7 p.m. at the company’s Market Square showroom, MS314.

The new collection of bedroom, dining room and living room furnishings are complemented by Kasler’s first collection of lighting and accessories for Hickory Chair. It’s a sophisticated blend of intricately detailed, hand-crafted wood products, and tailored upholstered pieces.

The collection includes a modern sofa and sectional named Lorraine, designed with a cantilevered base, trim tuxedo back and arms, and buttoned bench seat cushion. A companion sectional and chaises are also available. A French settee named Wimberly features open slats on the back and arms making it modern and classic.

The Verdun credenza features three doors fitted with brass pulls which compliments the French Moderne Laurent Arm Chair from the collection. The modern poster Normandy Bed provides an architectural element that complements the upholstered headboard.

Also part of the collection is a chest with reeded molding and drawer fronts fitted with brass hardware and unique side, end and console tables made in stone, wood and metal to add visual and textural interest.

“All of us at Hickory Chair are ecstatic with the new designs Suzanne has imagined for this new Paris Collection,” said Parker Goss, vp of merchandising.  “Elegantly tailored upholstered pieces from hand carved mahogany chairs to modern fully upholstered sofas showcase her design aesthetic and clear eye for proportion and scale.”

Goss continued, “The wood products are made from fine mahogany and ash and some have beautifully made metal accents.  The new lighting and accessories allow a designer to complete an installation for a special client with only Suzanne’s beautiful designs.”
