Report: Kane’s Settles Class Action Suit Over Bonded Leather

Tampa, Fla.-based Kane’s Furniture has settled a class-action lawsuit involving customers who claimed the retailer failed to honor their warranty when their bonded leather upholstery peeled and cracked, according to a story in the Tampa Bay Times.

The newspaper report said Kane's didn't admit wrongdoing and blamed the manufacturer, Southern Motion, for the problem.

The story said about 15,000 customers have been notified they may be entitled to cash and/or a store credit. The amount given to each consumer depends on when the furniture was purchased.

It covers furniture sold between July 27, 2010 and Dec. 5, 2016.
