Viteri to Moderate Closing Session at IDS Conference

Barbara Viteri of Designerlebrity will be the panel moderator for the closing session of the Interior Design Society’s annual national conference.

Viteri will discuss building a successful brand with three panelists.

Viteri created the pop-culture marque for the design industry with Designerlebrity in 2014 and the |POTENTIALS| in 2015. She has garnered the industry’s first highly acclaimed web talk show, “Designerlebrity Talk” on The Design Network, become the contributing interior design editor for The Typical Female Magazine, from which her articles have been recognized by HGTV, POPSUGAR, Refinery29 and been acknowledged for a Webby Award.

She has been called an “unapologetically authentic” business leader and has graced numerous magazine covers to include RISE Magazine and W2W Magazine, been featured by The Interior Design Community, Rue Magazine, Design Life Network, Success Magazine and most recently The Huffington Post. She has become a sought after moderator for her live show production appeal and no-nonsense interview style.

“Successful brands are not built off of an idea, but by the successful execution of one” Viteri said.

The panelists will be Nina Magon, Nick May and Jennifer Wagner Schmidt.

Magon is an interior designer and TV personality known for her signature design aesthetic. Her residential and commercial interiors have won her acclaim as she was named one of the top designers in the country by NBC. In addition to her many accolades, she was deemed “The Design Industry’s Next It Girl” by POPSUGAR and called “The Breakout Star” from season one of NBC’s American Dream Builders by RUE Magazine.

May hosts the top interior design podcast, “The Chaise Lounge.” After working with interior designers through his painting business, he decided to launch a podcast dedicated to the business of interior design. Each week he interviews designers from across the country. Over the past year and a half, May has built “The Chaise Lounge” brand into one that is being talked about across the Internet.

Wagner Schmidt is an entrepreneur and the founder of JWS Interiors, a D.C. metro area based interior design company and Box of Chic, a bi-monthly home decor subscription box as seen on “The Today Show.” In April 2015, Harper's Bazaar selected her as an inspiring woman for its "Fabulous At Every Age" contest/magazine feature (August 2015 print edition). In addition, Home & Design Magazine named her as one of the "HOT TALENT" up-and-coming designers in the Washington, D.C. area in July 2013.   Her work has also been featured in Domino, GoodHousekeeping.com, The Washington Post, Modern Luxury, as well as popular blogs TheEverygirl, The Glitter Guide, Rue Magazine, Apartment Therapy, Design*Sponge, CocoCozy, Refinery29, DC by Design, West Elm's Front & Main and more.

The conference will be held March 30-April 1 at the Dallas Market Center. Additional information about the 2016 IDS National Conference is available online.
