2015 by in Market
Visitors and exhibitors to the 2016 Canadian Furniture Show will be able to attend a presentation by David Chilton, well-known as a former dragon on CBC TV’s “Dragons’ Den” and best-selling author of “The Wealthy Barber”.
Chilton’s appearance will be May 29, at 9 a.m., just before the Market opens that day.
Chilton is an economics graduate who has a knack for recognizing great ventures, a skill he leveraged as a “dragon” on CBC television’s No. 1 show, “Dragons’ Den”. Called “charming, unpretentious, and funny,” by The Chicago Sun-Times, Chilton puts his business expertise and life experience to work in his inspiring talks. He began his career by self-publishing “The Wealthy Barber” in 1989, targeting those with little investment experience, to help them develop positive personal-finance habits. The book has become one of the most popular Canadian books of all time, selling more than 2 million copies since its release. His second book “The Wealthy Barber Returns”, is another Canadian best-seller. Chilton is also the publisher of best-selling cookbooks, with authors Janet Podleski and Greta Podleski.
“We are honored and exceedingly pleased to welcome David Chilton to this year’s show,” said Pierre Richard, president and CEO of the Show. “His presence is in keeping with our continued efforts to enhance the Show to better meet the industry’s needs. This impressive author and speaker, who has a flair for business and investments, will be an outstanding addition to our event. On Sunday morning, Show participants will be invited for breakfast and an inspirational presentation, followed by a book-signing session. Moreover, a few hundred audience members will receive a copy of his latest book. His down-to-earth, cheerful and upbeat outlook on life will definitely appeal to everyone attending the Show.”
The Canadian Furniture Show, produced by the Quebec Furniture Manufacturers Association, is set in Toronto May 28-30.
