ASID Sets Student LAUNCH
October 21,
2015 by in Designer Weekly
Scheduled for Feb. 26-28, the two-day event will allow attendees from across the country and representing numerous ASID student chapters to connect with peers and explore strategies on transitioning from education to practice.
“Offering interior design students resources in their professional development is a core pillar to the Society’s mission,” said Randy Fiser, ASID CEO. “And, one of the most important career decisions students make is the kind of education and training they get before they begin. LAUNCH will allow students to connect in a forum otherwise not available to them as they network and share information with fellow students, educators, practitioners, and industry experts, as well as students from other schools and ASID student chapters.”
Students will learn about various career paths available with an interior design degree, in addition to insights on resumes, portfolios, and networking.
“We want attendees to take away a deeper understanding of how to connect their careers to the industry, including licensure (NCIDQ), public affairs, and trends around health and wellness, sustainability, and resiliency,” Fiser said.
ASID will review education proposals for LAUNCH and other ASID programming through Nov. 20. LAUNCH proposals should focus on education geared toward multiple career paths for interior designers, the practice of interior design, and the profession. Additional information is available online.
Information on speakers and programming will be released soon.
