High Point Market Hosts Fit Challenge
September 29,
2015 by in High Point, Market
High Point Market attendees know the importance of packing good walking shoes when they visit the Market twice a year.
This Market, they’ll want to pack their favorite fitness tracker, too. Beginning on opening day of Market—Saturday, Oct. 17—the High Point Market Fit Challenge will give attendees the opportunity to track their steps and compete for a $250 Visa gift card.
Developed in partnership with Matchup, the fitness challenge will break participants down into several peer groups for the competition—designers, exhibitors, industry, press/media, sales representatives, retailers and students. Participants can track their progress on the Leaderboard, both through the website and the Matchup app. Those at the top of the Leaderboard at the end of each day will be recognized, and the one who ultimately takes the most steps as of 11:59 p.m. on the last day of Market—Thursday, Oct. 22— will receive a $250 Visa gift card.
“With over 11.5 million square feet of showspace, this Market certainly affords attendees the opportunity to do a lot of walking,” said Tammy Nagem, chief operating officer for the High Point Market Authority. “At Spring Market, I logged 37.52 miles on my fitness tracker over six days. My biggest day was opening day, when I walked 8.31 miles, or 19,302 steps.”
Attendees interested in participating in this challenge can get more details and sign up online. The climb to the top of the Leaderboard begins at 12:01 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 17.
