Decorating Den Interiors said the company’s first-half 2015 sales performance achieved a milestone with furniture sales taking over as the top product category for the first time in the company’s 46-year history.
“While our design professionals sell a significant amount of window coverings, wallpaper, flooring and accessories, they also are able to directly provide clients with extensive choices in furniture, including newly added luxury brands,” said Jim Bugg Jr., president and CEO. “This gives our franchisees a significant edge in providing clients a complete room makeover from choices made conveniently in their own home.”
Bugg said the company is emphasizing its furniture sales when it recruits for franchisees.
The company’s growth in the furniture category also was demonstrated with the selection of Taylor King Furniture as its supplier of the year, announced at its conference in May.
“The great relationship we have with our preferred home furnishings partners is a critical ingredient in the design business model we offer,” said David Haseley, vice president of merchandising and marketing. “It enables our owners to offer complimentary design services and operate a home- or studio-based business without inventory requirements.”
