NY NOW Expands Partnership with HGTV Magazine

With a three-pronged collaboration, NY NOW, will expand its partnership with HGTV Magazine to include the a Blogger Block Party, a #NYNOW Social Media Lounge and a seminar on business blogging in connection with the upcoming Market.
“Our partnership with HGTV Magazine renews the strong relationship forged last year between two leading home and lifestyle brands,” said Scott Kramer, NY NOW co-director and vice president. “Our cooperation this summer emphasizes blogging and social media, both of which are increasingly important to our industry.”
HGTV Magazine’s Blogger Block Party will include opportunities for bloggers to meet, craft, and share their experiences at an interactive event during the market. Sara Peterson, HGTV Magazine’s editor in chief, and Genevieve Gorder, HGTV designer, will make appearances during the free event.
The sparty will be held Monday, Aug. 17, from noon until 8 p.m., at 404 NYC, located at 404 10th Avenue (between 32nd and 33rd Street) near the Javits Center.
“We are thrilled to be hosting the HGTV Magazine Blogger Block Party in collaboration with NY NOW for the second year in a row,” Peterson said. “Through our partnership with NY NOW and our sponsorship of the new social media lounge, the online DIY and crafting community will have the opportunity to meet, network and inspire each other with new ideas and projects.”
A social media Lounge will encourage attendees to follow the action live while connecting and sharing highlights with fellow industry professionals. The lounge will be open daily through during show hours.
A seminar, “Blogging for Business 101: Everything You Need To Know and Why”, will explore how to use blogging to build business, where to find inspiration and subject matter, and how to develop and expand an audience. Alyssa Sparacino, online editor at HGTV Magazine, will moderate the discussion of blogging options and opportunities, with panelists including Nole Garey of Oh So Beautiful Paper, Grace Kang of Pink Olive and Becky Tyre of Retail Details.
Tickets are $20 advance and $25 onsite and can be purchased online.
