NY NOW Adds Offerings for Summer

NY NOW will take place Aug. 15-19 at New York City’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.

“We are excited to expand NY NOW’s programming in August to include exclusive appearances by food journalist Mimi Sheraton and celebrity stylist Erinn V,” said Scott Kramer, NY NOW co-director and vice president. “Both women are tastemakers and style-setters in their respective fields, and their presentations will nicely complement NY NOW’s gourmet housewares and home furnishings exhibit floor offerings.”

Gourmet retailers are invited to join Mimi Sheraton, author of “1,000 Foods To Eat Before you Die: A Food Lover’s Life List”, for a special breakfast on Monday, Aug. 17, 9-9:45 a.m. at the Javits Center. At the event, hosted in partnership with Gourmet Business, the grande dame of food journalism and former restaurant critic for The New York Times, will lead retailers on an extraordinary culinary adventure. Sheraton’s book 1,000 Foods To Eat Before You Die is a master list of the world’s best dishes, ingredients, restaurants, markets, and more that everyone should experience in their lifetime. The authoritative work, compiled and written by Mimi Sheraton, is the joyous culmination of her six-decade-long love affair with food. Tickets cost $25 each, and include continental breakfast and a signed copy of 1,000 Foods To Eat Before you Die.  

Home Fashion Forecast and NY NOW will co-host a special presentation for home furnishings retailers and interior designers: “Using Styling to Promote Your Projects and Build Your Brand with Erinn V, designer to the stars,” Sunday, Aug. 16, 4:45-5:30 p.m. 

Erinn Valencich – a trend and style expert, television personality and furniture designer who has styled shoots around the world with top brands and celebrities and worked with some of the top photographers to get on television, boost marketing and generate free publicity – will share her insights into using styling to help promote projects and build brands.

She also will share the secrets to her success with styling, including how to visually capture an audience of magazine editors and online followers and what to look for in a photographer before you invest. Tickets, which are $25 each, include light refreshments.

In addition to these two appearances, NY NOW will host several other “Only in New York” events, offering attendees unparalleled after-hour, beyond-the-show networking opportunities. The roster includes NY NOW’s favorite “Night on Broadway,” featuring discounted tickets to the Monday, Aug. 17, performance of HAMILTON. Tickets normally priced at $142 are specially priced at $110, before Aug. 14, and $120 after.
