Tupelo Market Registrations Trending Up

Hotel reservations in the area are ahead of schedule for the Aug. 20-23 event with new retailers and buyers are planning to attend. 

“Thus far, we are on pace to out perform last year’s market event, but we’ve done that somewhat consistently for the last few years,” said Kevin Seddon, president of the furniture market. “We have an extensive database of retailers that we market to aggressively and we track the attendance of every one of them from year-to-year and market-to-market.  Through the month of June, we have found a significant increase in registrations of furniture buyers for mid-size and larger furniture retail operations.”

Seddon said the upswing is good news and promises a busy Market.

In the last 12 to 18 months, about 100 new companies have showcased their product at the Market for the first time, Seddon said.

“We have great relationships with every hotel in the region and there are rooms still available,” said Seddon. “But, finding a room later in July may be difficult, so we encourage everyone interested in securing hotel rooms to contact our offices as soon as possible and we will make sure they get a good room at a fair price.”
