Ikea Partners with Belgian Apparel Designer

Home furnishings retailer Ikea has partnered with menswear designer Walter Van Beirendonck to a collection set to debut next year.
The Belgian designer has created five prints that bring to life a story of five characters that live in the clouds. The sun and the moon are saddened by what is happening in the world.
From the story, the designer created the prints and fabrics that will be used in Ikea’s Glodande collection.
Beirendonck is known for his unusual color choices and strong graphics, as well as his penchant for taking on cultural issues like racism and terrorism.
The collection will allow consumers to mix and match patterns across pieces. Images of designs are not yet available.
