Director of Philadelphia Center for Architecture Leaves Post
May 20,
2015 by in Designer Weekly
The director of the Philadelphia Center for Architecture has left her position.
Hilary Jay and the center said the move was amicable.
Although Jay is moving on, DesignPhiladelphia will remain the signature event of the center, providing more than 120 design-related programs and events for design professionals as well as the general public.
“After 10 years of molding DP into the festival it is today, I am pleased that it has found it's appropriate home at the center,” Jay said. “DP has been a labor of love for me and I am proud of what it has become, but the time is right for me to transition and tackle my next project. I move forward knowing that the festival is in capable and creative hands with Nova Harris as DP’s program manager.”
Rebecca Johnson, executive director of the center, said Jay’s contributions will be missed.
“We are excited to move forward knowing that Hilary’s passion for this festival has built a solid foundation that will continue to push the boundaries of connecting design with the general public,” she said.
The 2015 DP festival theme, Shift, finds a fitting parallel to the shift happening at DP and the Center. A planned tribute to Jay’s accomplishments is in the works for this year’s festival.
